We continue our work with our School Partners, building stronger working relationships and providing access to our extensive arts resource as an arts college.
Skelton Primary: Received a project run by York Theatre Royal, where a member of their education team ran some workshops in school based on material from the theatre's production of The Hare and the Tortoise. These workshops were followed by a trip to the Theatre to see the production.
Clifton Green Primary: had a Resident Artist in school for 8 days in the Spring Term working with over 60 students.
Clifton with Rawcliffe Primary: Forty students were provided with access to a year of Ukulele lessons, run by the Performing Arts Service.
Manor School: Continued links through our two music departments this year has led to the development of Music Technology at Canon Lee. Since the Spring Term, Manor students have had weekly access to a Samba drumming group, as part of their after school's club provision, facilitated and run by staff from Canon Lee.
The Cube Club: Twenty five students from across the partner Primary schools were invited to join a Year 5 drama club run by York Theatre Royal in the Spring Term. This club was held in our brand new, state of the art drama studio The Cube at Canon Lee. Students worked on basic drama skills for the first half of the term and went on to put on a small production of Snow White on 26th March. Parents and teachers were invited to watch this production, which was an outstanding effort by our Year 5 dramatists given the time that they had. A throughly entertaining show!
