While most students are still on their summer holidays 24 of our new year 7 students have the opportunity to attend our annual week long arts summer school. These students are selected by their primary schools (from our partner primary schools) in the summer term before they join us here.
Summer School 2006 was a fantastic success and with the theme of 'Carnival', students enjoyed workshops in Mask Theatre, Samba drumming, confidence and team building, dance and carnival arts and crafts. This was all recorded by our resident digital artist for the week, who engaged the participants in filming and interviews. A DVD of the week long summer school was produced.
Plans for Summer School 2007 are under way, so watch this space for news on what students got up to.
