Reward Schemes

Each student will have a planner with appropriate planner pages to place stickers. It is essential, therefore, that they do not lose or forget their planner.

Each sticker is colour-coded to represent every curriculum subject. In addition there are some special awards for Citizenship and other headings under which stickers can be awarded, for example, library stickers.

Stickers are awarded in the main by subject teachers to reflect one of four main categories:

1. Improved effort/attitude
2. Improved behaviour
3. Being a good citizen
4. Good academic work

When various levels are reached, for example 20, 40, 60, etc. letters are sent home to reflect this and certificates awarded at the 20, 40, 60 and 80 stage. At the end of every term there will be a prize draw in which students can participate. A draw ticket is awarded as a result of gaining 20, 30, 40, etc. stickers up to a maximum of 3 per term. Students then have a chance to win big prizes. There is also a Headteacher's Commendation Award for outstanding levels of achievement.

If a student receives 6, 12 or 24 stickers in a particular subject over the course of the academic year, a letter is also sent home for that subject at each of those 3 levels.

The system should, we hope, continue to be a resounding success.
