Welcome to the Student Council

The Student Council would like to welcome you. Student Council is a vital and integral way of communicating the student voice at Canon Lee and getting student issues heard.

If you have a student or school issue you would like to raise to your student council you can see your form represenatatives who will take it to the council for you.

What is the Student Council?

The Student Council is made up of two elected representatives from each form and meets on a monthly basis. The Council is led by a committee made up of its members who oversee the meetings and the events/activities as appropriate.


What do the Council do?

• deals with student issues in school
• liaises with staff about school issues
• plans and runs events to raise money for school
• coordinates charity events to raise money for outside charities
• represents school at local meetings/events


Student Council Events and News

March 2007: Students raised a fantastic £1011.77 for Comic Relief by having a non- uniform day. A group of Year 7s also held a raffle and raised over £100 included in the total. Staff at the school put on their glad rags and raised the rook with Staff Idol 2007- the proceeds of which also went to Comic Relief.

February 2007: Students took part in a Dragon's Den style presentation event at Next Generation Gym, where they were successful in their bid to win £15,000 for a outdoor performance and seating area for the school. Congratulations!!

February 2007: Students attended the annual Student Council Conference, where they attended workshops on recycling, volunteering and fair trade.

November 2006: a Fashion show was held at Canon Lee to raise money for an outside charity.
