In Technology we have an excellent range of facilities in order to deliver a modern Technology Curriculum. Our rooms are equipped with some of the latest computer and CAD/CAM equipment enabling students to produce work that is of a very high standard. We have a dedicated team of teaching and support staff that provides an excellent range of learning experiences for students
In key stage 3, students study Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials and Graphics covering a wide range of practical opportunities. Students learn key technological skills such as problem solving, communicating and presenting ideas, I.C.T and practical construction skills.
At key stage 4 we offer GCSE's in Food Technology, Textiles Technology, Resistant Materials Technology and Graphic Products Technology Our successes in these courses are proven by the large uptake of students and our high GCSE results.
Students are also given the opportunity to attend after school clubs in Technology and enter local and national Technology competitions such as The Green Power Challenge, a competition in which students design, make and race an electric car, and York schools Food Festival in which student work as a team to produce a two course meal competing against other local schools.
